Do you remember when the songs that made it to this album were recorded? Well, before I left L.A., I had four songs on the album. I know you guys have hundreds of songs together. He tried to dap me up, and then I just woke up with my hand out, trying to dap him up. Future, he was trying to dap me up, but I was asleep and I had my hoodie on. I was sitting on the couch, and I was asleep 'cause they was recording some of my beats. We went to 11th Street Studios. I ain't know Future was there, I ain't even know it was Future's session. So what was the path from Casino to actually meeting Future? It was quick.

I would hope the feelings I aroused can continually draw them back to my words. I want people to associate my writing so closely with the way I made them feel. These are things I try to merge with my artistry. The names of some of my pieces resemble track listings that are evocative and possess mystique, or album covers that are nostalgic and homely. I attempted to mimic the strides of album rollouts. Or at least the way I compose projects and pieces of writing.
It’s noteworthy that so many elements of Hip-hop influence the way I write. These things, once they've all met, give birth to all I create. My stories and the memories my body has kept from some of life’s most perfervid conversations are handed over to my artistry. My artistic flair was manufactured in the warehouse of my own heart. These two things play so close to one another. The line resting between distinction and predictability gets blurred. I don’t like being predictable, but I do like being separable, discernible if you will. “ Cube Vision” set the tone for every Friday movie’s comedic success.ĭay-Day is a reflection of Ice Cube’s comedic genius and it’s no question whose hand drew out the development of his character.
